El horno rotatorio pertenece al equipo de materiales de construcci\u00f3n y, seg\u00fan los diferentes materiales, puede clasificarse en horno de cemento, horno de metalurgia qu\u00edmica y horno de cal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horno de cemento<\/a> se utiliza para fabricar cl\u00ednker de cemento, existiendo m\u00e9todos secos y h\u00famedos para su producci\u00f3n. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

El horno de metalurgia qu\u00edmica se emplea ampliamente para el tostado magn\u00e9tico de mineral de hierro pobre y el tostado oxidante de cromo y n\u00edquel en acer\u00edas; el calcinado de mineral de alta al\u00famina en f\u00e1bricas de materiales refractarios; el horneado de chamota y al\u00famina en plantas de aluminio; y el tostado de mineral de cromo y polvo de cromo en la industria qu\u00edmica. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

El horno de cal<\/a> se utiliza para tostar cal activa en acer\u00edas y plantas de ferroaleaciones, as\u00ed como para el calcinado ligero de dolomita.<\/p>\n\n\n

Principio de funcionamiento del horno rotatorio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

El horno rotatorio es un recipiente cil\u00edndrico, ligeramente inclinado respecto a la horizontal, que gira lentamente sobre su eje. El material a procesar se alimenta por el extremo superior del cilindro. A medida que el horno rota, los materiales se desplazan gradualmente hacia el extremo inferior y pueden experimentar cierto grado de agitaci\u00f3n y mezcla. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los gases calientes circulan a lo largo del horno, a veces en la misma direcci\u00f3n que el material procesado (flujo paralelo), pero generalmente en direcci\u00f3n opuesta (flujo contracorriente). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los gases calientes pueden generarse en un horno externo o mediante una llama dentro del horno. Dicha llama se proyecta desde un tubo quemador (o \u2018tubo de combusti\u00f3n\u2019), que act\u00faa como un gran quemador. El combustible puede ser gas, petr\u00f3leo o carb\u00f3n pulverizado.<\/p>\n\n\n
