O forno rotativo pertence ao equipamento de materiais de constru\u00e7\u00e3o e, de acordo com os diferentes materiais, pode ser dividido em forno de cimento, forno de metalurgia qu\u00edmica e forno de cal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forno de cimento<\/a> \u00e9 utilizado para produzir cl\u00ednquer de cimento, existindo m\u00e9todos a seco e a \u00famido para sua fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

O forno de metalurgia qu\u00edmica \u00e9 amplamente utilizado para a ustula\u00e7\u00e3o magn\u00e9tica de min\u00e9rio de ferro pobre e a ustula\u00e7\u00e3o oxidante de cromo e n\u00edquel em sider\u00fargicas; a queima de min\u00e9rio de alta alumina em f\u00e1bricas de materiais refrat\u00e1rios; a queima de chamote e alumina em f\u00e1bricas de alum\u00ednio; e a queima de min\u00e9rio de cromo e p\u00f3 de cromo em plantas qu\u00edmicas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

O forno rotativo \u00e9 um recipiente cil\u00edndrico, ligeiramente inclinado em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 horizontal, que gira lentamente em torno de seu eixo. O material a ser processado \u00e9 alimentado na extremidade superior do cilindro. \u00c0 medida que o forno gira, os materiais movem-se gradualmente em dire\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 extremidade inferior e podem sofrer uma certa agita\u00e7\u00e3o e mistura. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Os gases quentes percorrem o forno, \u00e0s vezes na mesma dire\u00e7\u00e3o do material processado (corrente paralela), mas geralmente na dire\u00e7\u00e3o oposta (corrente contr\u00e1ria). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
