Limestone ball mill mill working principle

A limestone ball mill operates by feeding crushed limestone into a rotating cylindrical chamber filled with grinding media (steel or ceramic balls). As the drum rotates at โ€‹โ€‹70โ€“80% of its critical speedโ€‹โ€‹, centrifugal force lifts the balls and limestone upward. At a certain height, gravity overcomes centrifugal force, causing the balls to cascade down, crushing the limestone through โ€‹โ€‹impactโ€‹โ€‹ and โ€‹โ€‹attritionโ€‹โ€‹. Smaller particles pass through a discharge grate, while larger fragments remain for further grinding.
