Last November, a customer in Saint Lucia approached us and said they needed a dry ball mill for their production of metallic and non-metallic minerals such as potash feldspar, gold, copper and iron. Considering their various needs, we recommended a ball mill with a capacity of 6t/h. Here is an introduction to the deal.
Selection and Configuration of Dry Ball Mill
- Shell rotary speed (r/min): 29.7
- Feed size (mm): ≤25
- Output size (mm):0.074-0.4
- Capacidad (t/h): 3-6
- Fuerza (kw):110
Customer Order Process
Saint Lucia’s customers choose our dry ball mills after market research and product comparisons. They submitted an order request via email detailing the required technical parameters and performance requirements last in November 18, 2024. Our sales team has communicated with our customers many times to ensure that they fully understand their needs and provide professional advice and solutions.
Transportation and Delivery
After the manufacture of the dry ball mill, we chose a reliable logistics company for transportation. Depending on the size and weight of the equipment, as well as the urgency of the customer, we decide to ship the equipment to Saint Lucia by sea or air. During the transportation process, we pay close attention to the transportation status of the equipment to ensure that the equipment is safe and undamaged. Upon arrival at the destination, our team carried out the unloading and initial inspection to ensure that the equipment was intact.
Installation and Commissioning
After the equipment arrives, our professional and technical personnel immediately go to the site for installation and commissioning. First, they fixed the equipment to make sure it was stable and reliable. Then, they connected the various components, including the motor, the transmission, the mill body, and so on. Next, they conducted a test run to check that the device’s various indicators met the requirements. If problems are found, they are adjusted and fixed in a timely manner until the device is able to operate normally.
Start-up and Training
After the installation and commissioning is complete, the device is officially started. Our technicians carry out comprehensive inspection and testing of the equipment to ensure that the performance of the equipment meets the expected results. At the same time, we also provide customers with detailed operational training. The training includes basic operation, routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment. Our technicians patiently answer customer questions and provide hands-on demonstrations. Through training, customers are able to operate and maintain equipment independently, improving work efficiency and production capacity.
Working Method of Dry Mill
The material enters the mill through the feeding device. The feed can be a dry powder or granular material, depending on the process requirements.
Inside the mill is a grinding medium, usually steel balls of different diameters. These steel balls are lifted to a certain height when the mill rotates, and then fall freely, using the impact force and friction to crush the material.
The inner wall of the mill is usually lined with a liner to reduce the direct contact between the steel ball and the inner wall of the mill, thereby extending the service life of the equipment.
With the rotation of the mill, the material is continuously rolled and stirred inside the mill to ensure that all materials can be evenly ground.
The residence time of the material in the mill can be controlled by adjusting the mill speed and feed amount.
The ground material is sifted through a grading system inside the mill. Larger particles are left in the mill to continue grinding, while smaller particles are discharged through the discharge port.
Grading systems usually include a screen or air separator to ensure that only the required fineness leaves the mill.
After grinding and grading, the material that meets the requirements is discharged from the discharge port of the mill.
The discharge method can be gravity discharge or mechanical delivery, depending on the design and application requirements of the equipment.
In order to maintain a good working environment inside the mill, ventilation systems are usually equipped to remove dust and heat.
The ventilation system also helps to improve grinding efficiency and prevent the material from caking.
Regular inspection and maintenance is the key to ensure the normal operation of the dry ball mill. This includes checking the wear of the grinding media, cleaning up accumulated material inside the mill, lubricating components such as bearings.
Modern dry ball mills are usually equipped with a monitoring system, which can monitor the working status of the equipment in real time, and find and solve problems in time.
